THE QUIET ONES is about a young woman who is the experiment of an eager professor and a few of his young students. The movie is mostly from the perspective of the amateur cameraman Brian, who took this job because he wants to "experience things" but what he wants to experience is not explained. The young woman, Jane, is presumed to be either possessed or telekinetic, but the reality is much darker. Professor Joseph Coupland believes he is saving her, and Jane too believes he can save her. As the experiment continues to save Jane from herself and force her to release the dark part of herself named "Evie" things go from bad to worse.
The movie has few moments of tension and a few scares but overall I feel like I've seen this movie. It is comparable horror movies like APT 143 and THE DEVIL INSIDE. There is really nothing new in this story, and like many others it claims to be "based on actual events" with the pictures to prove it. The ending was predictable although this held my interest a little more than OCULUS. If you can catch it at a cheap time go for it, since it does have a few scares. I would have liked for the title to be a little more relevant. I would also have like a little more back story into the professor and how things began for him.
