I posted the above description because the description of this movie tells so little about what the movie is actually about. I thought I was going to be watching another stupid horror movie about people who lose their memories and find themselves fighting each other to the death only to find out that one of them was the original killer (SAW, CUBE, ELEVATOR), but that was not at all what I got. This movie was great, stunning even me with the twists (and that is really hard to do).
A man with no memory wakes up in pain and in a pit of corpses. When he is let out by a mysterious Asian woman who speaks no English he finds that there are four other people in the same boat as he is, no memory of who they are or what they are doing in the middle of the woods. As the story unfold it just gets weirder and more crazy.
There were times when I got really frustrated with this movie and the "wait and see" plot twist it was using. I wanted more information about the character and the "others" around. These others were weird and attacked the memory-less group with no provocation. There was another odd element of the movie that was not quite developed and that was the dead bodies secured to trees. There were several dead bodies just laying around, hanging from trees, or secured with barbed wire to trees and the relevance was hinted at but never really explained.
The surprise came at the end of this movie and it was worth the wait. This wasn't a zombie movie in the regular sense of the zombie genre, but it is related to the zombie apocalypse and apocalyptic movies. While there were times when the movie was a little too slow, I really enjoyed not knowing what was going on and the surprise ending.
