The previews made the movie look so promising. A monster, a tragedy, Brian Cranston, what more could one ask for....well the answer to that is a lot!
The movie started off very slow. A discovery, a meltdown, then finally, like 30-40 minutes into the movie you meet your very first monster. The characters didn't make me care for them. The main character, Ford, was dull and two dimensional. His wife, played by Elizabeth Olsen, was so unbelievable as both a military wife and an ER nurse that I wanted to cry. I would also have liked to see a little more of Godzilla, I mean wasn't he supposed to be the star of the movie?!?!
I have no problem suspending my belief. I believe in ghosts, demons, heaven, hell, and monsters under my bed, but there were so many issues with military uniforms, EMP pulses, military qualifications, I could go on but why? If you want to see it because you are a fan of Godzilla, go for it, but I think you'll be very unhappy to have spent the money.
