I love fireworks. I love the brightness, the designs, the colors, the sound. I love that fire is used to make them and you need fire to enjoy them. I'm a little bit of an arsonist at heart. Then again, who isn't. I guess people who have been hurt by fire don't always love fire.
As I'm thinking about fireworks I'm wondering why we don't do them more. Why not have fireworks on Christmas in the shapes of ornaments, angels and trees? Why not have fireworks on mothers day in the shapes of flowers and hearts and more flowers? We could have some in the shapes of pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, turkey and cornucopias for Thanksgiving. I then moved on to my favorite holiday, Halloween.
As a horror author I would love to see fireworks in the shape of zombies. Wouldn't it be fun to see sparkles of bright blood dripping from the face of a zombie clown? Wouldn't it be fabulous if there were zombies in the sky, freaking out children and making zombie lovers squee!? I think it would. I'd love to see some variety in the fireworks period. I'd like to see more than just hearts and smiley faces in the sky. I want to see blood, gore, and every now and then, I'd like to see a cat.
Yeah, I said it, a cat.
I love cats. So sue me.
