I'm in a play

So if anyone is looking for something to do next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday come see me. I play the cook and I get to die.To be honest I haven't been in anything where I don't die, and I die in this as well. Then again there might be people out there who look forward to seeing me die!

Anyway, come see the play CLUE, maybe Professor Plum did it in the dining room with the lead pipe. Maybe Mrs. Peacock did it in the study with the wrench. Then again maybe Colonel Mustard did it in the kitchen, with the rope, and he liked it.

Movie Review - 6 SOULS

I think this was the month of how many terrible movies I could watch. 6 SOULS followed the terrible movie pattern! Now if you read the IMDb synopsis it sounds interesting. Here is what you get from IMDb: A female forensic psychiatrist discovers that all of one of her patient's multiple personalities are murder victims. She will have to find out what's happening before her time is finished.

I mean that sounds totally awesome! The beginning of this movie had Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing a tormented young man with multiple personalities, and Julianna Moore playing a skeptical psychiatrist. Meyers is really great in this movie, playing the different personalities, and it makes the viewer wonder if he is faking to get away with murder or if something is sinister is wrong with him. Then, it falls into a category that many movies fall into when dealing with psychological issues, demon possession. Yes, this movie is all about demon possession and yes, it was so stupid after that.

Moore ends up causing more deaths than anyone else in this movie because she finds out too late how things work. Now, I don't mind the odd religious movie, but this one totally disappointed me with the ending. It seems like in almost any movie, when you have an evil child, or an evil demon, you just can't let the kid die, and honestly I am a fan of killing everyone who deserves it.

I wish I could have said something better about this movie, but I just, it was so not good.

If anyone has any suggestion of any really good horror movies that I may have not seen, I welcome suggestions! I'm getting tired of all of these terrible horror movies.

Movie Review - CRIMSON PEAK

Lately I feel like I have only been watching horrible horror movies, this one didn't disappoint in the horrible category.

I had such high hopes for this movie. A spooky brother and sister. A spooky house. A spooky landscape, An innocent young girl who isn't really sure what love is. And with actors like Jessica Chastain and and Tom Hiddleson, I thought, "Yeah, this should be totally awesome!"

IMDb summarized this movie like this: In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds - and remembers.

Now that sounds like an awesome movie! A house that bleeds, what?!?! How cool would that be to figure out why it does that, but it isn't that interesting. There are actually so many plot holes in this movie that I almost felt like the film was burning up in front of me and pieces of the film were being burnt away. It was obvious who the killer was. It was obvious what was happening. And honestly, I was seriously disturbed by the holes in the house. I mean why weren't they fixed? How hard would it have been if you were building this device for years and getting all this money? Why not make the house, you know, not have snow falling in it in mounds. So stupid.

Anyway, before I give away everything, I am going to say, I was not scared at one point during this movie. I didn't feel any sympathy towards any of the characters, and ever freaking plot twist (if you could call them that) was so predictable I saw the all coming in the first five minutes of the movie.

I recommend this movie to no one. Save your money and don't go see it. Save your money and don't rent it. Save your money and time and don't even stream it! Just don't!!!!!

Movie Review - SICARIO

I really wanted to like this movie, then again, I really want to like most movies I go to, but this one, it was just, eh. And yes, eh is the technical term. When you read the description on IMDb you think, "Huh, this might be a good movie about the terrors in Mexico and the war on drugs," Unfortunately it isn't. From IMDb: An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elected government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.

That isn't a very long synopsis, and it really doesn't tell you much about the movie, and honestly it goes way off base. First off there are so many technical errors, one really does wonder how the hell these agents are getting away with what they are doing. Second, there are absolutely no good guys in this movie, which would be okay if there were any point.

The movie begins with the young idealistic FBI agent played by Emily Blunt raiding a house owned by a cartel member. Inside the house they find a horrifying surprise, and she decides she is tired of finding things that don't help her get closer to the big bad guy. So she is enlisted by another agency, only to find out that they don't really like to do things entirely legal. There is a constant back and forth between her and the head agent of the other group about whether they should be doing the things they are doing, and if any of this would hold up in court, but honestly it doesn't matter, because not one of the bad guys was supposed to get out alive anyway.

The saving grace of this file is Benicio Del Toro's character Alejandro. He is a mysterious figure and the viewer isn't quite sure what his job is in the group, until they break through a tunnel, then his job becomes obvious and a little frightening. He is just evil enough without making the viewer hate him.

I wanted to like this movie, it looked great. All I can honestly say I liked was Del Toro's character. He was fabulous in this film, like he often is, but this was just a great fit for him. I can't say I recommend this movie, but it does give a somewhat honest portrayal of how drug cartels work and run. A lot of people don't believe me when I say that the city of Juarez, Mexico is one of the most frightening cities I've ever learned about.

Yes I know, October is almost over and I haven't posted anything. Damn, people of the net, I have been so freaking busy and I'm so sorry. I promise I will write some posts, probably Friday, when I have a little free time. I went to Rocket City Lit Fest and I think they need to work out some kinks before I go again. Tomorrow I will be the featured author at a open mic night. This weekend I will be at Rocket City Nerdcon, selling books and other stuff. But, I do have at least two movie reviews to post, possibly four depending on if I can get this one movie watched.

So, if you have free time, come see me at Nerdcon this weekend. I'll be up on the third floor.

Oh, and lastly, BOOK 3 if FINALLY available. For the moment it is only available on Amazon as a paper book, but hopefully next month it will be in other online retailers as a paperback and as an ebook. I just don't have time right now to make it available on all channels.

So look for it, ZOMBIE WASTELAND, is available!
